Privacy
We collect and process personal data you or others, such as a local authority or GP, give to us. This data includes your personal details and, sometimes, y sensitive information such as about your health, immigration status, financial means and family circumstances.
We collect and process that data so that we can do the work you have asked us to do for you or respond to an enquiry from you.
We will only use your data for the purpose required.
We will only share your data with others to the extent necessary to progress your case. This can include pursuing your case with your opponent, obtaining public funding from the Legal Aid Agency, instructing barristers, filing evidence in court, making representations to local authorities or obtaining evidence from witnesses or your GP.
Access, correction, restriction and deletion of data
You have the right to ask for the data we have about you. Normally we will not charge a fee for supplying this. Usually we will give you the data within 1 month of your request although in complex cases we can take up to 2 months. If so, we will inform you.
In most cases we will give you a digital copy of your data, unless you chose not to have it in that format.
You can ask us to correct any incorrect data we hold. You can restrict how we use your data. However, if you do so, we might need to stop acting for you.
You can ask us to delete your data when we no longer need it. However, we will need to keep it for at least 6 years after we stop working for you. Some of the data we will need to keep permanently to ensure that in future we do not act for a third party in conflict with our duties to you.
